Renaissance rapier
Renaissance rapier with curved guard and leather scabbardRenaissance rapier with curved guard and leather scabbard
The swept-hilt rapier comes from Europe in the early 17th century.
It was the time of the Renaissance when fencing with the rapier was a fundamental part of the training of young noblemen and often served to resolve conflicts among themselves.
The blade of this rapier is hand-forged from high carbon steel (EN45), ground and carefully polished, but not sharpened.
In terms of weight, size and finish, it's kept close to its contemporary originals. The wooden handle is wrapped with steel wire and the elaborate guard is made entirely of steel.
A matching leather scabbard with steel locket and chape is included.
Details:
- Total length: approx. 103 cm
- Blade length: approx. 85 cm
- Blade material: EN45 spring steel
- Includes leather sheath
- Weight (without scabbard): approx. 950 g
