The Gjermundbu helmet is a Viking Age helmet. The helmet was discovered in 1943 at the Gjermundbu farm near Haugsbygd in the municipality of Ringerike in Buskerud, Norway.
The Gjermundbu helmet was found in nine fragments and was subsequently restored. The helmet was made of iron and was in the shape of a peaked cap made from four plates. It is now on display at the Museum of Cultural History of the University of Oslo.
This is an example of a Viking helmet with glasses, which guarantees the fighter good historical protection and at the same time a sufficient field of vision.
There are some Gjermundbu helmet replicas on the market, but none are as elaborate as ours.
The tile of the helmet has two crossed bands, with two rivets spaced for each band, which converge on the tip. The mask is made of steel and is well welded to the helmet, so that it does not come off despite the blows it will suffer, thus offering adequate protection. Nordic and Viking tradition symbols are represented on the helmet mask.

The helmet can be worn with an aventail, thus protecting the neck and shoulders as well.

All our helmets are suitable for historical re-enactment parades, exhibitions and above buhurt (heavy combat), in the latter case it is necessary to choose the 2mm thickness.
