The Ribchester Helmet is a Roman bronze ceremonial it was found in Ribchester, Lancashire, England in 1796, ceremonial helmet dating to between the late 1st and early 2nd centuries AD, which is now on display at the British Museum.
Helmet use among first and second centuries AD as part of the equipment of the participants in sporting competitions known by the name of "Gymnasia Hyppica" where two teams of riders face each other in tests of skill.
