Iberian falcata, silvery, Marto
The falcata is a steel sword that originated in the Iberian peninsula and is therefore related to the Iberian natives before the Roman conquest.
It was used by the Iberian countries or neighbors such as the Celtiberians as it was the most common sword in the peninsular area.
Roman chroniclers praised the quality of the iron used in the construction of Spanish arms; they were surprised by its cutting ability and flexibility, one of the most valued and sought-after features in its manufacture.
Curiously, after the first fighting in the Iberian Peninsula, Roman troops were ordered to reinforce the edges of their shields with iron, which may be due to the cutting power of the falcatas, which is much higher than straight swords and sabres.
