The burgonet helmet was the successor of the sallet helmet, also called "burgundian sallet", it was very popular between infantry but later also the cavalry used these helmets.
It developed to become the most widely used helmet during the 16th and 17th centuries.
The burgonet helmet is a type of helmet that leaves the face uncovered, characterized by a crested crown (more or less pronounced, depending on the models), brim, eaves and hinged cheekpieces.
Inside the helmet there are strips of leather and string for maximum comfort. On the back of the helmet there is a hole, so you can insert your own medieval feathers. Feathers have been used for centuries to adorn and enhance medieval armor and helmets. These delicate and beautiful accessories add a touch of elegance and style to the already imposing appearance of the helmet and the wearer.
All our helmets are suitable for historical re-enactment parades, exhibitions and above buhurt (heavy combat), in the latter case it is necessary to choose the 2mm thickness.
These medieval helmets are produced in Italy by expert Italian blacksmiths and craftsmen, for generations we have passed down the art of producing helmets and armor, using the best raw materials.
Trust us and you will be amazed by the workmanship of these helmets.
