The barbute helmet is the Italian variation of the late-medieval bascinet helmet. Its construction is very similar to types of ancient helmets (e.g. Corinthian helmets) and may have been influenced by the renewed interest in ancient history and arts, the renaissance.
This reconstruction is developed after an original Italian Bascinet dated around 1470 which is now housed in the Germanisches Nationalmuseum in Nuremberg, Germany. Delivery includes a very comfortable, high-quality, adjustable padded liner and a riveted leather chin strap and brass buckle.
This helm-type is available in three sizes (S, M, and L).
Italian Bascinet, Barbute helmet, circa 1470, battle-ready, Available in four sizes: M - L and XL.
