Reproduction of object of Roman art, reproduction of a lamp functioning of the 1th century D.C., was used to illuminate the different rooms of the house. They consist of a main body which acts as a reservoir, by one or more spouts and sometimes by a handle. Through the feeding hole on the body, the tank was filled with oil that burned through a wick in linen or hemp. They were composed in various shapes or simply was decorated with the disc mythological images, scenes of everyday life, animals.

the Greeks and Romans used the clay oil lamp, a covered bowl, with a spout for the wick, this reduced contamination and spillage, handles were often added, and holes for ventilation.

 

Entirely handmade terracottas, we follow the Ancient Greek and Roman techniques: Every piece is therefore unique.

Reproduction a lamp similar to the lamps of the classical age, can be used as models of antiquity admirably recreate the mysterious atmosphere of the nights of the past. Thanks to a special coating, obtained by decanting the clay according to Greek and Roman techniques, the lamp is waterproof. The oil on the inside does not ooze, so that the flame, depending on the size of the container, can burn for the duration of olive oil.
