The medieval Bavarian or (Medieval Barbozza) is a piece of Medieval Gothic-style armor plate, used as protection for the chin (neck and lower face) during combat.

In use from the late 1350s until the Late Gothic period. Made entirely of steel, handmade and wearable.

The medieval Bavarian is characterized by a steel plate fitting that can be hooked onto the top of the helmet.

Used in the Middle Ages, around 1350, when the comparsero only concealed the helmets and pelvis, these types of helmets, being incomplete, left the lower part of the face and neck uncovered. Bavarian armor was widely used by heavy cavalry in the late Middle Ages, part of the combat weapons of the Late Gothic period that reigned in the Holy Roman Empire, the Kingdom of France, and Italy during the Renaissance.
